Welcome! And so it begins....
Hello Friends! It is Wednesday (November 6 @ 11:16 AM). We have had a busy and eventful 24 hours. This morning we had collar changes, weights, cleaning, etc. The pups are doing well--so far, so good. I will be reporting in more detail as possible.
Litter News--November 5, 2019
November 5th -- (8:51 PM) --Bettee is very uncomfortable---panting and whatnot. She has refused food for the most part today. We will keep you posted.
November 5th -- (6:51 PM) --Bettee is restless--working her bedding over and antsy. I don't think she is interested in eating. Her recent trip outside was short-lived. It is more of the same--waiting, watching, and holding our breath. (OMG)
November 5th -- (12:45 PM) --Bettee is resting. She and Christina went for a decent walk this morning.
November 5th -- (6:09 AM) --Bettee is waiting on Cliff for her first trip outside. Cliff is getting coffee first. She is being very patient.
She had another decent night--we continue to hold our breath. Then too--if those pups need another day or two, let's give it to them. The waiting-waiting-waiting is sometimes longer than others. But there is a fairly large window for a timely whelp--about ten days.
November 4th -- (11:57 AM) --Bettee had a good night and she has cleaned up two meals. She is uncomfortable, but overall doing well. We wait--Bettee, Us, and All Who Wait With Us.
November 3rd -- (6:47 PM) --Bettee has been offered another meal. She requested it after her last potty trip--then she proceeded to push it away. She is still calm and settled in the whelping area.
Saturday November 3rd -- (2:09 PM) --Bettee has continued both resting and at the same time, being restless. I think anyone who has ever been pregnant understands. (Haha) She and Cliff just left for a quick walk. She had had a couple of smaller meals since breakfast — the second one she slicked the bowl clean. The last meal--she didn't even clean up what she seems to consider the best parts. So, that (not eating) is often an indicator that the whelp is not far off.
Saturday November 3rd -- (8:04 AM) --Bettee decided she wanted to eat. I prepared her breakfast and she cleaned the bowl. Then she needed another trip outside--it is 21-degrees, but outdoor potty trips are essential.
Saturday November 3rd -- (7:18 AM) --Bettee had a decent night. We have not yet offered her breakfast. Those tummies don't typically like to eat the first thing in the morning. Yesterday, she ate well--several small meals. She has a walk or two. Today--we plan much the same type of thing where we monitor her and keep things chill.
Saturday November 2nd -- (10:22 PM) --Bettee has been fairly good today. She has eaten well, and been calm. Of course, when we could not be right here for her we have Christina here to babysit. There is no other way for us to be gone.
